Facebook has had a momentous impact on the mental health of young teenagers in Australia. Facebook hacking and the destruction of individuals digital reputations are becoming prominent issues among youth. This has lead to an increase in a range of psychological issues, ranging from depression to anxiety and even suicide.
1 in 16 teens will experience depression,
with suicide being the biggest killer of young Australians.
10.5 per 100 000 died of suicide in 2012.
Since social media became more common place these statistics have continued to rise at a dramatic level.
