More shots and why + edits

The following shots are questioning for the public. We wanted to gather their opinions on two questions: Whether they know all their friends on social media and if they worry about who they talk to.

Straight on angle: I am not trying to portray a certain character here these interviews are meant to just show the perspective of the youth of today. (that sounds slightly aggressive... sorry)

Mid shot: Just to show a basic shot of the youth of today

Lighting: Bright professional

Straight on angle

Mid shot

Lighting: Bright professional

We chose this shot because it is Jenna looking really shocked at her laptop. This relates to the voice over as it is talking about the impact of scamming and stress on youth of today

Angle: Slightly high to Make Abby look vulnerable

Shot: Mid shot to get some of Abbys location and represent she is by the sea to try to calm down as she is very stressed out in this scene.

Bright lighting to show that she has tried to destress by being outside and by the sea.

We chose this shot of Abby as the voice over speaks about how youth are stressed out by scamming and in this shot Abby looks extremely stressed.

High angle: To represent Jenna is in a vulnerable position

Mid shot

Lighting: darker to show she is in a bad place right now.

The shot over the top

Close up shot to show someone typing on a keyboard, but to not show their face as scammers usually remain faceless

High angle: To film the keyboard being typed from the perspective of a scammer

Lighting: Darker to reinforce that scammers have bad intentions

We chose to use these two shots in overlay with each other as the voice over talks about who youth of Australia are at great risk of becoming stressed out as a result of getting involved with scams. Here Jenna is typing away on her laptop representing the victim, absentmindedly clicking on scams, while an overlay of a faceless person typing on a keyboard represents the actual scammer.

In this shot I overplayed various Facebook scams with a time-lapse of myself on my laptop to make it look like I am an average teenager scrolling through numerous scams that are online now a days.

Shot: Mid to show Jenna's location and her staring at her laptop to make her look like she is sitting in school (as an average teenager would) scrolling through Facebook

Straight on angle

Bright lighting: As she is at school and it isn't often dark when your at school

Edits: I used this clip of Jenna because she very much just looked like an ordinary teenager on their laptop I overplayed a shot of her typing in her details as here the voiceover speaks about scams that the youth of Australia face and in scams it is often crucial to give your details.

High angle: To represent Jenna is in a vulnerable position

Mid shot

Lighting: darker to show she is in a bad place right now.

The shot underneath is a computer video of many spam emails coming into an inbox

We chose to use these two shots in overlay with each other as the voice over talks about who youth of Australia are at great risk of becoming stressed out as a result of getting involved with scams. Here Jenna is typing away on her laptop representing the victim, absentmindedly clicking on scams, while overlaid over the top is examples of many common scams that people fall for repeatedly.

High angle shot of Jenna looking stressed out to signify that she is in a vulnerable position.

Mid shot

Lighting: darker to show she is in a bad place right now.

The shot over the top

The other shot:

High angle to show what is being written

Close up: To show the writing

We chose to overlay these shots together as one is a shot of Jenna looking extremely stressed and the other is an explanation of the impact online scamming has on the stress levels of the youth. This shot simply backs up the visuals in the first. Over the top is a voice over speaking about the impact of scamming on these tress levels of youth.

The following clips are an interview with my dad about the time he got scammed over Facebook. We chose to include this interview with him as scamming is one of the topics we touch on in our documentary and we wanted to show it is much more common that you think.

Mid shot: To show both Abby, (the interviewer) and the location.

Moving camera to show Abby's perspective

Edit: I edited an overlay of an email being typed out that says "WE need to reaffirm your log in details" as my dad is speaking about how that was the first instruction that was given to him from the scam and we wanted to make it look like the scammer was typing out these instructions.

This is a computer screen video of my dad logging in as he is speaking about how he had to enter his password into the scammers website.

Bright lighting as my dad received the call in the morning the next day (I remember when it happened)

Straight on angle: My dad wasn't really in a vulnerable position as the money had been transferred back into the account.

Edit: We entered a screen video of someone typing log back onto your account as my dad is explaining how he was instructed to log back on his account and we wanted to make it look like the scammer was typing out these instructions.

We edited this clip in as my dad says the scam took him away from Facebook. In this clip a page that takes you away from Facebook is being loaded.

High angle to get a perspective of someone typing on their keyboard (Unseen so possibly a scammer?)

Close up: To get the scammers perspective

Dark creepy lighting, as they are a scammer and do not have good intentions

We overlaid this shot of a "scammer" copying someones password with a screen recording of my dad typing in his password as it relates to the keystroke virus, that my dad is speaking about, being downloaded into his computer.

Here I overlaid shots of an online scam from Facebook and someone typing out a Facebook rant about being scammed as my dad here is talking about how common it is to be scammed and these images back it up.

High angle to get a perspective of someone typing on their keyboard (A person who is hitting delete on a fishing email)

Close up: To get persons perspective as they hit delete

light from the laptop screen

We edited this here as my dad says her it is best to delete everything that could possibly be a scam

High angle: To make Abby's character look vulnerable

Mid shot: to show location and Abby

Lighting: Bright and light as it is day time here

The other shot:

High angle to show what is being written

Close up: To show the writing

I overlaid the two shots like this to represent the fact that Abby is feeling vulnerable and depressed as a result of hacking (which is what is being spoken about in the voice over) The writing backs up what is being spoken about in the voice over.

High angle: To show that someone is texting on a phone

Mid shot: To not get too much detail about what is being texted but only the fact that texting is happening

lighting: Dark to represent that something creepy is happening.

The other shot:

High angle to show what is being written

Close up: To show the writing

We overlaid these two shots to talk about the dangers of chatting with strangers and predators online. The firsts hot of the phone looks dark and rather creepy while the other is a written shot that backs up the voice over talking abut the impact on online predators on the youth of today

Shot: Mid to show Jenna's location and her staring at her laptop to make her look like she is sitting in school (as an average teenager would) scrolling through Facebook

Straight on angle

Close up: To show the writing

We chose these two shots in conjunction as I am trying to display the impact on scamming of the youth of Australia, Jenna is sitting in school on Facebook and looking shocked as if she has just witnessed someone being scammed or she herself has been scammed. Over the top the word scamming is being written while the voice over speaks about it being a problem.

High angle shot of Jenna looking stressed out to signify that she is in a vulnerable position.
