Hitchcock and lighting

- Adding shade to a face to represent that the character has a darker aspect to their personality
- In strangers on a train Bruno sits with shadows covering his face as if he is sitting behind a jail cell while guy has no shadows covering him, indicating that he is a good character with pure intentions
- Guy moves more into the shadows the murkier the plot gets and the more the murder involves him.
- The colour of green in vertigo symbolises mystery
- the lighting in Judy's room takes on a green motif
