Subverted parts of the fairytale
Straw to gold --> Paper to money
Rumplestiltskin helps the daughter so she is able to marry the king --> Charlie helps Anna as she attempts to be in charge of the company
The king has all the power and the ability to have anyone he wants killed at his mercy - Veronica has all the power in the company and has the ability to have anyone she wants hit by a hit man.
The father brags to the king that his daughter can turn straw into gold --> A worker is overheard telling a hit man to assassinate someone because he knows too much about the business.
Rumplstiltskin tears himself in half --> Charlie is shot
Daughter gives her ring to Rumplstiltskin --> Anna sends her ring out to the next hit eventually just before charlie death Veronica retrieves the ring and sends it out to him.
