The Sunflower Motif

So In my film there are a lot of shots where you can see sunflowers. Literally they are always on Michelles desk. But there are also lots of little flashes between shots of Michelle fiddling with sunflowers and although you can barely see it Minnie places a sunflower on a shrine of her friend. The sunflowers, I decided are the motif for my hero's journey trailer. Because my story is a sad story, a friend trying to bring her best friend back from the dead after a tragic car accident, and my trailer does not explicitly state that she succeeds (even though in my head she does and it is implied) the sunflowers are just sort of meant to symbolise that there will be a happy ending. In a lot of the shots the sunflowers look very out of place in the dark room. They are meant to symbolise the hope Minnie's character Jinx has that she will be able to bring back her friend.
