Things started changing when they started putting music into film

Colours was the next innovation —> The Wizard of Oz

technologies
institutions
audience
representation
language —> Visual language
Sometimes there is censorship in language
In terms of mine en scene censorship some videos have been censored because of their visual language
Mise en scene
Cinematography
Lighting and colours help to create a theme
Miley cyrus in wrecking ball she was all young and innocent and then came back with this crazy video where she was fully naked on a wreckage ball using her tongue
One of the most controversial music videos was a film clip called girls on film
another was madonna in 1987 when she released like a prayer, she used her body to sell stuff and she was selling her body in a catholic church.
Censor ship has changed censorship law cause society itself has changed people are exposed to media which desensitises people. Music videos have helped do this.
